PIRRAIA
PIRRAIA (PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS Culture the Kid), a 20-year-old Luxembourgish rapper of Brazilian descent, has been steeped in music since childhood, drawing inspiration from Brazilian songs, rock, jazz, and soul music through his parents. He discovered rap at 14, embracing its expressive freedom. His musical journey took off with his first single "Livin in the Clouds" in 2019, followed by a series of singles leading to his debut mixtape "General Culture" in 2021. In 2022, he released the EP "Searching Rhymes," blending hip-hop with folk/acoustic country influences.
Making waves in Luxembourg's music scene, PIRRAIA won the "the Qwest" freestyle challenge two years in a row and performed at notable venues alongside prominent artists. He has collaborated with the modern jazz band “Jambal” and appeared with the Luxembourgish Philharmonic Orchestra under Grammy Award Winner Gast Waltzing. His dynamic performances earned him the best live performance award at the “Screaming Fields Festival” in 2023, shortly before opening for Selah Sue and marking his international debut in Strasbourg's “Pelpass Festival.”
Now based in London, studying music at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), he is immersing himself in the city's urban culture to fuel his upcoming project.
