HOKUBE

Hokube is a Gabonese hip-hop producer, composer and DJ based in Luxembourg, where he has been living and working for over a decade. Self-taught, he began producing music in Gabon and developed his career through international collaborations, notably with US-born Burkinabè rapper Ish Sankara, with whom he released the collaborative album and short-documentary T.R.O.M.LIFE (2013) and later BLVCK HUNDRED (2022).

After years of working across borders and contributing to various projects, Hokube started releasing his own records, including the collaborative album Give Love, Get It Back (2020) and the experimental EP series When It Went Quiet (2022–2025). His productions combine boom bap foundations with influences from soul, jazz, African music and electronic textures. Alongside his studio work, he performs regularly as a DJ and has presented live shows at venues such as Rotondes and De Gudde Wëllen in Luxembourg, as well as appearances in Paris. His music has also been used in film projects screened at international festivals. His latest album, No Love Lost , brings together artists from different countries and scenes, including Benjamin Epps, Jean Deaux, Eric Jamal (Coast Contra) and Ol’ Kainry. Developed outside major music industry hubs, the project reflects Hokube’s long-term commitment to collaborative production and independent hip-hop development across continents .
